Additional Bonspiel Cancellation Details
In response to recent media requests and publications Curl Troy is releasing the following statement regarding the cancellation of the 2017 Champion City Spiel:
Due to the increasing interest for curling in the region over the past few years, the Curl Troy board has decided to realign its priorities toward a focused goal of bringing a world class dedicated curling facility to the region, which is why we are cancelling this year’s Champion City Bonspiel. The Curl Troy board and its members would like to express their gratitude for all the community’s support during last year’s bonspiel and especially for the ongoing and continued support from the staff at the NTPRD Chiller facility.
More information about the “Build Our House” campaign will be released soon, and will be available on www.curltroy.org. If you are interested in receiving email updates about the campaign, participating in the project or donating to the campaign please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org. Curl Troy is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization striving to be a regional, national, and international destination that provides Southwest Ohio with opportunities to experience recreational and competitive curling in a safe, social environment.
With this release we would also like to provide the following clarification from recent articles. Chiller LLC. was informed of the cancellation Immediately after we made the decision. In addition we continue to have scheduled programming, including curling during the originally scheduled bonspiel weekend, at the NTPRD Chiller facility during our spring and fall seasons, along with continued programming at RiverScape Metropark in the winter. We are sorry for any confusion in our previous release.
